foreign pop standards apart from the rock and roll have taken over, often with
the influences and instrumentations taken from more of the traditional Czech
style.

Currently,
the Czech Republic has been a breeding ground of the punk, punk rock and metal
bands and some of the include the brutal death, goregrind, black and similar
patterns of extreme metal. The 1960s saw the American bluegrass music gain wide
fame, and the first European festival were held in 1972 (the annual Banjo
Jamboree in Kopidlno). In the year 1964 and 1982, Pete Seeger move around the
country, inspiring generations of the Czech bluegrass and the American style
folk musicians. One important instance of the band of Poutnici, whose early
success helped preserve the bluegrass music in the Czech Republic. Many former
members of the Poutnici have listed or toured with the band Druha Trava, and
has brought the Czech bluegrass to the recent world music performance.
