Pop Music of Colombia

This is a musical pattern that has been growing currently with artists such as Los de Adentro, San Alejo, Lucas Arnau, or Mauricio and Palodeagua. The pop with strong traces of the traditional Colombian music, named Tropipop, is also rising recently; Fonseca and Maia represent this problem. Some of the Colombia’s most known artist internationally include the following;

·         Shakira is the highest selling and most known Colombian artist, after the success of her songs Pies Descalzos in the 1995, Shakira started working with the producer Emilio Estefan Jr and recorded Donde Estan los ladrones which sold a millions world- wide. Providing herself as more that a studio pop-diva in her MTV unplugged presentation, Sharika went to a make and English album Laundry service which debuted at #3 in the billboard charts of the  in the United States America.

Her most successful songs are hip don’t lie which sold over 10 million copies and also downloads worldwide, which topped over 70 countries #1, and the song whenever wherever she is winner of the 2 American and 7 Latin Grammies 2008, he was nominated for a golden globe.

·         Singer-songwriter Juanes swept the Latin Grammy in the year 2003 with his album Un Dia Normal that became very famous in the United Stated and in Europe,

Juanes was chosen by the CNN as a global icon and is the youngest of the repertoire; his humanitarian activity has made him the most supportive artist in the history of the Spanish music, since he started in the music Juanes has broken the records with the Latin Grammys for creation.

·         IIona, a native of Colombia’s capital city, Bogota she cut her teeth in composing in the public transport bus service at the age of 15. She has released two full-length album which include Desde Mi Ventana and the Latin Grammy award nominated Alla En EI Su.
