Musette is a pattern of French music and dance that became renowned in Paris in the year 1880. Musette uses the accordion as main instrument, and often symbolizes the French arts living abroad. Emile Vancher, 1883 to 1969, was the musician of the new style. Other famous musette accordeonists include Aimable Pluchard, Yvette Honer and Andre Verchuren. In the year 2001, the musette-pattern was a huge international success through the song Amelie that was composed by Yann Tiersen.
