Finland
music can be mainly divided in the following three parts; the folk music is
typically powered by the Karelian traditional tunes and songs of the Kalevala
metre. The Karelian heritage has traditionally been apparent as the purest
expression of Finnic myths and beliefs, thought to be spared from Germanic and
Slavic powers. In the West Country, more mainstream Nordic folk music of the
traditions is prevail, the Sami people of the northern Finland have their own
musical traditions, which is known as the Sami music. Finnish folk music has
undergone a foundations revival in the present era and has also become a part
of the famous music.

In
the field of the classical and current art music, Finland has produced a big
number of artists and composers, in the current famous music such as the
renowned metal music scene, in common with the other Nordic countries, as well
as the number of the prominent rock and pop bands, makers of dance music, jazz
musicians, hip hop performers. A Schlager scene with bandstand dancing exists
where Finnish tango, somewhat modified from the Argentinian, is also
well-known.
