Fiji
is an Island nation in the Pacific Ocean, though geographically Melanesian, the
music of the Fiji is more Polynesian in character. Nevertheless, the Fiji folk
patterns are different in their mixture of Polynesian and Melanesian
traditions. The folk music is dominated by the vocal church music, as well as
the dances characteristic by the agreement and difficult drums created from
slit drums or natural materials.
