The
rural folk traditions in Bosnia which include the shouted, polyphonic ganga and
ravne pjesme (which is the flat song) patterns, as well as instrument such as
droneless bagpipe, wooden flute and sargija. The gulse is an instrument that
founded during the Balkans, and it is also used to accompany the ancient Slavic
epic poems. There are also Bosnian traditional songs in Ladino that derived
from the areas of the Jewish population. The Bosnian originates its music from
the Middle Bosnia, Posavina, drina valley and Kalesija. This is usually
performed by the singers with two violinists and a sargija player. These groups
firstly appeared around the World War I and became famous in the 1960’s. It is
the third oldest music that followed after the sevdalinka and ilahija.
