wind musical instrument of Croatia, analogous to the oboe or shawm. The musical
instrument is used in the region of the Kyarner, Kastav, Vinodol, Island Krk
and Istria. The musical instruments are always performed in pairs so there are
great and small or thin and fat versions of the musical instrument. The sopila
are musical instrument of sound that is very interesting possibilities and has
very piercing and special sound. This is repeated in more modern version of the
instrument.

Rozenice are old traditional musical
instruments that continue to be in use in the modern day in the region of
Istria. The musical instruments are very analogous to the sopila from the
Island Krk. The rozenice are always performed in pairs so there are many size
of the musical instrument. The musical instruments have a very piercing and
special sound and have interesting possibility of manufacturing a variety of
musical sounds.
The sopila is a wooden horn
fabricated in Istria and some of the northern islands along the Adriatic coast
of Croatia. Just like the oboe musical instrument, the sopila instrument have
double reeds, although are always performed in pairs; one of the instruments is
always larger than the other. Both instruments have six finger holes that are
equally spaced on the smaller version of the instrument and set in groups of
three on the larger version of the musical instrument. Usually, the musical
instrument is always used as an accompaniment instrument to dancing; the voice
of the sopila is that of the Istrian scale.
