The
funk carioca is a kind of dance music from the Rio de Janeior, it came from and
also superficially similar with the Miani Bass, in the Rio is mainly often
known as the funk, while it is very different from what the funk refers in most
other areas and contexts, the funk carioca such as other hip pop lifts heavily
from the samples like the international rips or from the past funk music. Several
famous funk songs sampled the music from the movie.

Funk
as well as rap music was introduced to the Brazil in the systematic way in the
1980’s, these kinds of music were heavily supported in big cities by the people,
usually teenagers of the lower socio-economic status. Several funk artists have
openly associated themselves with the black movements and often in the lyric of
their songs, comment on race relations and openly express the black pride.
In
the Sao Paulo and other areas in the south Brazil, on more urban places, rap is
more widespread than funk. The lower class, mainly non-white rappers are
referred to as the Rapeiros, they dress like the American rappers that they
have seen in the television. The early Brazilian rap was based upon the rhyming
speeches that deliver over the dance bases sampled from the funk albums, with
the occasional scratches. Sao Paulo has gained a strong, underground Brazilian
rap scene since its beginning in the later 1980’s with several independence
labels forming for the young rappers to make themselves on.
At
1990 in Rio de Janeiro, the funk as well as the rap was reported by the press
to have been adopted by the drug lords of the city as a way to market their
drugs at the dance hall place. Some of the crime groups were known to subsidize
funk parties to recruit as the young kids into the drug dealing business.
