Hatef Mokhtar was
born on the 11th May 1962. He is an author from Afghanistan and is
currently residing in Norway and he is also a citizen of Norway. He is the
founder and the Editor-In-Chief of The Oslo Time and he is also a human right
activist. He writes for a good number of newspapers and magazines like the
KL-Today, Eracity, the Daily Sun, the Malaysia Today, Burma Digest, Haama
Daily, Groruddalen no. he works towards the achievement of the Press Freedom
and freedom of speech and he is for the promotion of peace also. Hatef is a
political analyst and a public speaker. Even though he is a political analyst
on Afghanistan, he as well specializes in the issues of human right in the
world and the freedom of expression to be specific. Hatef is of the Durrani
clan of Pashtun. He is the originator and the chairman of the Armed for the
Quill and also the Organization for Global Peace.

Early Life and
Education
Hatef was born on the
11th May in the year 1962 at Mazar-i-Sharif in the Balkh region of
Afghanistan to a Pashtun family from the Durrani clan. His father, Gul Maulawi
Mohammad Khan was a religious student. As he was a critic of the communist era
n the country, Khan was arrested by the police under the leadership of Noor
Mohammad taraki. Imprisoned at the Pul-e-Charkhi prison that is in Kabul, he
was killed during the leadership of the next communist president of the
country, Hafizullah Amin. After that Hatef and his family were forced out of
the country and they took refuge in Pakistan. He went to Balkh University in
Afghanistan and there he got a degree in political science. He can speak
Norwegian and is good in the English language as well as the Hindi, Pashto,
Dari, Urdu and Persian.
Organization and
Associations
In the year 2007,
Hatef founded an organization that is known as Global Peace. The mission of the
organization is to create awareness on the dictatorial eras on a global
platform. In the year 2010, he founded the Armed for the Quil, and this was to
support the freedom of the press and the freedom of expression. This organization
coordinates with more than 100 journalists in its works toward promoting human
rights as well as democracy and to circulate awareness against extremism and
dictatorial leadership. In the year 2011, he founded The Oslo Time, which is an
online Newspaper that is available in English language.
Books and Writings
Hatef translated a
biography of Kabir Stori, a Pashto poet into English language. He also
contributes articles to the Newspapers and magazines. He often writes for five
blogs that focus on the human right and the freedom of expression. He is an
o=author of two book; A Yoik for Anna and The red Wrath.
The Red Wrath is his
second book that was bublished in the United States, Australia and the United
Kingdom. Hatef has dedicated the book to the people of his country,
Afghanistan. The underlying theme that is behind this book is ‘A Bird called
Destiny’. In Norway, Asif, the protagonist looks back at the experiences of Hatef
in Afghanistan. Even though he is born and raised there, he was forced to leave
his country because of the bad political situation of his country. Not just
that, he was affected personally; his dad died in the prison after he was
detained and never saw his family again, and then the trial and tribulation of
a young man who was growing into adolescent age started. Asif is of the opinion
that destiny has a part role to play in the life of an individual.
The book, The Red Wrath was recently added to
the National Library of Australia.
Hatef writes his
poetry in the Persian language as well as Pashto and the English language. He
has made some acknowledged content in the latest edition of the Persian poetry
book called Nabas e Darakht.
Present Life
In the year 2001,
Hatef relocated to Norway as a political asylum seeker in the wake of the civil
war of Afghanistan followed by the Taliban leadership. It was in Norway that he
freely expressed his opinion through his writings. He serves toward the human
right concern like the freedom of expression and speech, freedom of education
for women and the promotion of peace, democracy, multiculturalism and poetry,
eradication of racism and the prevention of genocide. He is a constant public
speaker and has been opposing dictatorship and communism.
Award and Honors
In the year 2007,
Hatef was appointed as the Global Peace Ambassador by the Universal Peace
Federation.
He is the person that
got the 2013 Readers’ favorite Bronze Medal, a contest that is organized by
Readers’ favorite.
Controversies
Hatef has been
talking about his stance on the human-right abuse in several part of the world.
Because of that, he has been stopped from travelling to countries like Syria
and the North korea by the regimes of the countries.
