Qamar Gula

Qamar Gula is a musician from Afghanistan. Among the female music players in the country, Gula is very popular and she has many fans across the country and the Pashtun. Gula is said to have been among the first female music players that sang for the radio and the TV in the country.

Gula was born in the region of Nangarhar, Afghanistan. She began her music profession when she was about 7 years of age. The first song that Gula sang on the radio was ‘Pa ma mayana stargay de sray de’. It was this music that got her introduced to the people of the country. Her son is Dilawar Zakhil.

FAMILY LIFE

Gula is a widow of Mohammad Dib Zakhil, (Late). She together with her three daughters and three sons lives in Ontario, Canada, where she went on with her music profession.
