Peter Lorre caused an international sensation with the role of a serial
killer who preys on small girls in the German movie called M in the year 1931.
Soon in the enforced exile, his debut English movie was called The Man Who Knew
Too Much by Alfred Hitchcock in the year 1934. He settled in Hollywood and
became a featured player in several Hollywood crimes and mystery movies.
Peter Lorre was born with the name László Löwenstein on the 26th
June 1904, as the first son and child of the Jewish couple called Alajos
Löwenstein and Elvira Freischberger, in the Austro-Hungarian town of
Ruzomberok.
