Peter Altenberg was born on the 9th March 1859 in the city of Vienna; he died on the 8th January 1919 in the city of Vienna. He was an Austrian writer and a poet. He was the key to the starting of the early modernism in the city of Vienna.

Biography
Peter Altenberg was born with the name Richard Engländer on the 9th March 1959. He is from a small town on the Danuber River. 
Peter Altenberg was discovered by Arthur Schnitzler in the year 1894 and was appreciated by Hugo von Hofmannsthal and Karl Kraus. He was one of the major proponents of the impressionism of the city of Vienna. He was a master of aphoristic stories because of the intimate observation of the life events of the people of the country.
Peter Altenberg became popular al through the city of Vienna aft6er publishing the book of his fragementary observation of the children and women in the street activities of the country.
He is at times called a Cabaret of a coffee house poet because of the continuous repetition of the bars and coffee houses of the city of Vienna in his works.
 He is seen by many academics to be a bohemian’s Bohemian. Like other writers of the country, Peter Altenberg was often in lack of money, but was good at making friends and convincing people to pay for his bills, his meal and for the drinks he take.
He was never married. Peter Altenberg died on the 8th January 1919 at the age of 59. He was buried at the Central Cemetary in the city of Vienna.
The Altenberg Trio is named after Peter Altenberg. It is a classical chamber music group that was formed in the year 1994 in the city of Vienna, Austria.
