Manoel was born in the city Cuiabá, and is seen by his critic as one of the
great names of the modern day poetry of the country and many other authors of
the country sees him as the greatest living poet of the country. He is seen as
the biggest poet of the country by the poet of the country called Carlos
Drummond de Andrade.
He was handed the National prize of Literature of the
Ministry of the Culture from Brazil for the set of the work in the year 1998.
