Manaf Faraj oglu Suleymanov was born on the 3rd March 1912 in
the village of Lahich; he died on the 12th September 2001 in the
city of baku. He was a famous writer, translator and a historian from
Azerbaijan.

Manaf Faraj oglu Suleymanov was born in the village of Lahich
in Azerbaijan in the year 1912. He graduated from the Azerbaijan Oil and
Chemistry Institute and then worked in the Institute of Industry as an
assistant professor in the country. He finished his Ph.D in geology in the year
1942 and lectured at many universities of the country. He is well known for the
literary works in the country and he wrote many novels and translated English
language books by Jack London, Somerset Maugham, O. Henry, John Steinbeck,
Peter Abrahams among others.
He was handed the title
Azerbaijani Honorary Art Master in
appreciation of the huge contributions he had made t the literature of the
country as well as the national arts of the country.
