Adelmar Tavares da Silva was born on the 16th February 1888;
he died on the 20th June 1963. He was a Brazilian lawyer,
magistrate, jurist, professor and a poet. He was a member of the Brazilian
Societies devoted to criminology and law. As a poet of the country he gained
respect with many of his poems becoming songs in the country. He became the
president of the Academia Brasileira de Letras.
