The temirkomuz is a Kyrgyz jaw harp, while the komuz is a different version of musical instrument, a three-stringed fretless lute. Not historically but as a
musical instrument temirkomuz is not related to the komuz in the aspects of their style and
their structure, on the other hand, it derives its name from this another
musical instrument of the same people that is as well very extensively used
among the people. The komuz is a musical instrument that is used
by Turkic people that are dwelling in the central
regions of Asia such as Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, Kazakhs, Turkmens, and Uyghurs etc., and some other people that are living in some other
regions of Asia by Azeri, Turkish, and Yakut people etc. In reality, komuz is similar for the names of numerous
musical instruments that are used widely by Turkic people and participating in the Central Asian music or the music that is
connected to there just as Kazakhkobyz,
The musical instrument is manufactured of iron often having
the length of 100 mm to 200 mm and with a width of about 2 mm to 7 mm. the
range of the musical instrument differs with the size of the musical instrument,
but normally performs around one octave span. The people of Kyrgyz are not
often proficient on this musical instrument and it is quite prominent among the
children. Meanwhile some adult members of the country continue to play the
musical instrument. There is a National musician of Kyrgyz Republic that plays the musical instrument, temirkomuz. One time 20 Kyrgyz girls performed in a temirkomuz group on the arena of the Bol' shoi
Theater in Moscow.
