Manuel Puig was born with the name Juan Manuel
PuigDelledonne on the 28th December 1932 in General Villegas,
Argentina; he died on the 22nd July 1990 in Mexico. He was an
argentine writer. Among his best popular works are La traición de Rita Hayworth (1968),Boquitaspintadas (1969)and El beso de la mujeraraña (1976) that was made into a movie by
the Argentine-Brazilian director called HéctorBabenco.

Life
Manuel Puig was born in General Villegas in Buenos Aires
region of the country. After an unsuccessful studying of Architecture in the
Universidad de Buenos Aires, he started working as a movie activist and as an
editor in the city of Buenos Aires and in Italy after he won a scholarship from
the Italian Institute of Buenos Aires. His dream was to become a screenwriter.
In the 1960s, he went back to Buenos Aires and it was there that he wrote his
debut major novel called La traición
de Rita Hayworth. Manuel Puig
moved to Mexico in the ear 1973 and it was there that he wrote his subsequent works.
Manuel Puig lived in exile all through most of his life. In the year
1989, he moved to Cuernavaca, Mexico from Mexico City and it was there that he
died in the year 1990
