Biography
With the coup d’état that took place in the country in the year 1976,
Juana Molina’s mother left the country and lived in Paris for 5 years. Juana
Molina grew up in a musical environment. Her popular tango musician father Horacio Molina taught her how to play the musical instrument,
guitar at the age of 6.
Juana Molina kicked off her career in the year 1988 as a comedic TV
actress in the country, Argentina on the show called La NoticiaRebelde. She
later appeared in Juana y
sushermanas. She is still popular in the Latin America.
Juana Molina gave up her famous comedy career and took up music. She
dropped her first album called Rara and then Segundo that was reissued by
Domino Records of the country. She gained fans in the United States, Japan and
in Europe and she travelled to many part of the world.
Juana Molina performed the vocals for the music called Seal by The Chemical
Brothers. She took part in the CongotronicsVs Rockers collective project of the
year 2011.
On the 28th October, 2013, Juana Molina dropped Wed 21, which
was her first album in 5 years.
The first single and
video from the album is the music called Eras, which was premiered on the
Pitchfork.
