Jorge Cayetano Zaín Asís

Jorge Cayetano Zaín Asís was born on the 3^rd March 1946 in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires province. He is an argentine writer and a politician.

Biography

Jorge Asís was born in Avellaneda. From his youth age, he was attracted to literature and political activism.

Among the first major books he wrote was Los reventados.in the 1970s, Jorge Asís published a daily column in the daily Clarin in the tradition of Roberto Arlt. In the year 1978, Jorge Asís reported from the South American rally as Rocamora, it was there that he ran as co-pilot of the stock Citreon car.

He became famous in the year 1980 with the work called Flores robadas en los jardines de Quilmes. In the year 1984, Jorge Asís dropped the book called Diario de la Argentina. In the 1980s, he became the basis of the novel that was published in the year 1987 called Partes de inteligencia.

At the time of Raúl Alfonsín's presidency, Jorge Asís settled towards the justicialist party and supported the presidential candidate called Carlos Menem. When Menem became the president of the country in the year 1989, he appointed Jorge Asís to handle many government and diplomatic posts in the country, including the UNESCO ambassador, secretary of culture and the ambassador of the country to Portugal.

After ten years tenure of Menem as the president of the country, Jorge Asís stayed back in the politics of the country and he became a sought after commentator in the print media, radio stations and the TV stations of the county and his quality fluency in many languages made him outstanding. In the 2007 presidential election of the country, he vied for the post of the vice-president of the country and shared ticket with Jorge Sobisch, a former governor of Neuquen region of the country. He finished 6^th in the election.
