Andrew Graham-Yooll was born in the year 1944 in Buenos Aires to a Scottish father and an English mother. He wrote about 20 books in the English and Scottish languages.

Andrew Graham-Yooll joined the Buenos Aires Herald in the year 1966 and he left the paper in the year 1976, and that was when he was forced to an exile by the military regime of the country. He worked for the Daily Telegraph and the Guardian in Britain before he became the editor of the south magazine in the year 1985. In the year 1989, Andrew Graham-Yooll was selected to be the editor of the Index on censorship magazine. He was a fellow at the Wolfson College of the University of Cambridge. In the year 1944, he came back to his country, Argentina and to the Buenos Aires Herald and he became the editor and the president of the board. From the year 1988 to the year 2007, he was the paper editor of the organization. Andrew Graham-Yooll is now the Ombudsman at Perfil.
