Adolfo Bioy Casares

Adolfo Bioy Casares was born on the 15^th September 1914; he died on the 8^th Marc 1999. He was an argentine fiction writer, a journalist and a translator. He was a friend and always worked with his fellow country man called Jorge Luis Borges and they together wrote what is seen as the best piece of fantastic fiction novel with the name The Invention of Marvel.

Biography

Adolfo Bioy Casares was born in Buenos Aires. He is the grandson of a wealthy land owner and diary processor called Patrick Lynch, who is a successful immigrant from Ireland. BioyCasares wrote his first story at the age of 11. BioyCasares wrote several stories with Jorge Luis Borges under the pseudonym of H. Bustos Domecq after they were introduced in the year 1932 by Victoria Ocampo. 

Awards

Ø  The Gran Premio de Honor of SADE in the year 1975.

Ø  The French Legion of Honour in the year 1981.

Ø  The Diamond Konex Award of literature in the year 1994.

Ø  The title of illustrious Citizen of Buenos Aires in the year 1986.

Ø  The Miguel de Cervantes prize in the year 1991.

BioyCasares died on the 8^th March 1999 and was buried in La RecoletaCemetary in Buenos Aires.
