Aires. He is an argentine author, journalist and a literary critic. Most of the
novels he has published have been classified as youth literature. He has though
published novels and stories that are not classified under this genre.

Biography
Sergio Olguín grew up in a middle class suburb of Buenos Aires known as
Lanus and he studied Literature at the University of Buenos Aires.
In the year 1983, Sergio Olguín won the First Prize of the Short Story
competition that was arranged by magazine Humor &Juegos.
Sergio Olguín started his journalistic work in the year 1984. All through
his career, he published articles in newspapers of the country like Página/12, La Nación, El País (Montevideo) and La
Capital and also the magazines of the country liketrespuntos, Playboy, La Maga, Noticias,
Film, Karavan (Stockholm) and some other media he worked as the editor
of the magazine called Famiglia
Cristiana until the year 1989.
In the year 1989, he was the joint winner of the First Prize in the
poetry genre at the PrimeraBienal de Arte joven of the city of Buenos Aires. He
also got a special position in the story genre of the competition. The next
year he Sergio Olguín founded the cultural magazine called V
de Vian that he managed until the year 2000. The magazine became a shock as
they published pictures of a nude woman on the cover. The argentine book
chamber in the year 1998 gave the magazine an award of Julio
Cortázar Prize for alternative media in the country.
Sergio Olguín was the co-writer of the play called Imakinaria that was
premiered in the year 1990 in Cemento. The play was also acted at the Centro
Cultural Ricardo Rojas of the Buenos Aires University in the year 1990. That
same year, he became a founding member of the magazine called El amante cine, and he was the director of the
magazine until the year 1992.
From the year 1992 to the year 1998, Sergio Olguínwas responsiblefor the book section of the magazine called Página/30. He was the literature section
coordinator of the cultural even called Desde el Borde that was arranged by the
FundaciónBancoPatricios
in the year 1993.
In the year 1994, Sergio Olguín got a first mention in the Concurso
de NarrativadelConcejoDeliberante of Buenos Aires city. His collection of short
stories called Las griegas was published by Vian Editions in the year 1999. In
that same year, he edited the book known as Najdorf X Najdorf that was written by LilianaNajdorf.
In the year 2000, Sergio Olguín started serving as a reader and
as a consultant of TusquetsEditores Argentina. He was the chief editor
of the portal known as TangoCity.
Sergio Olguín’s novel called Lanús was published in the year 2002. One of his stories called
Hechaunafuria was added in the German anthology called Zerfurchtes Land.
