Salah Assad was born on the 10th June 1958 in Larbaâ Nath Irathen. He is a manager and was a former footballer of Algerian national team. He played the role of a striker for the country and for the clubs he played for.

He played for RC Kouba, it was there that he won the Algerian tournament in the year 1981 and one African Cup Winner’s Cup. He also played in France for FC Mulhouse and for Paris Saint-Germain. He played actively for the national team of the country, he took part in the 1980, 1982, and 1986 African Cup of Nations, 1980 Summer Olympics, and he also played in the 1982 and 1986 FIFA World Cup for the national team of the country. He is presently holding the record of most goals scored at the World Cup for the country that were both scored in the 1982 World Cup.
