Ryad Boudebouz was born on the 19th February 1990. He is a
footballer from Algeria. He is currently playing the role of an attacking
midfielder for the club SC Bastia in Ligue 1. He is a member of the Algerian
national team.

Club Career
Ryad was born in
Colmar by Algerian parents. He grew up in the Europe region of the city. When
he was 10, he joined the junior ranks of the local football club SR Colmar and
he was with the club till the age of 14 before he went on to join FC
Sochaux-Montbéliard youth Academy. He played his first match for the club when
he was 16. On the 15th May 2008, he signed his first professional
deal with the club on a three-year contract till the year 2011.
He played his first
match for the senior side of the club on the 4th October 2008,
starting in the league match that was played against Nice. He scored his first
goal for the club on the 8th November 2008, in a match that was
played against Le Mans and his club won the game 2-1.
On the last day of
the summer transfer window of the year 2013, Ryad signed a 3-year deal with SC
Bastia for a fee of €1 million.
International Career
Ryad got a surprise
call to play with the Under-21 squad that were hoping to start fresh after
being eliminated from the 2009 UEFA European U-21 Football Championship for a
friendly match that was played against Denmark. He made his mind up to reject
the offer and rather played for the U-19 team that were on the ladder of 2009
UEFA European U-19 Football Championship.
On the 4th
May, Ryad was called to be part of the Algerian national team that was play in
the 2010 World Cup preliminary squad. He played his first match for the senior
team of the Algerian national team in a friendly match that was played against
Republic of Ireland on the 28th May 2010. He started the game on the
bench and was brought into the game in the 65th minute of the game,
he was later included in the 23-man squad for the World Cup.
