Mustapha Rabah Madjer was born on the 15th February 1958 in Hussein Dey, Algiers. He is a retired Algerian football player. He played the role of a striker for the club and for the Algerian national team.

He reached the stardom as a player of FC Porto in the 1980s and he is known to be one of the best all time footballers from the country, Algeria.
Club Career
Mustapha Rabah Madjer was born in Hussein Dey, Algiers. He started his European football career in the 1983/84 season as he made a move to RCF Paris from NA Hussein Dey. He stayed with the club for 1 ½ season and finished the 1984/85 season with another club, Tours FC.
Mustapha Rabah Madjer arrived at F.C. Porto in the 1985/86 season. He entered the history book of the club in the following season in the European Cup Finals that was played against FC Bayern Munich as he scored the equalizer goal of the match that later finished 2-1 in favor of his club.
After that stellar 1987, Mustapha Rabah Madjer won the African Ballon d’or but he was not permitted to compete for the European Golden Ball as he was not born in the region. He after that signed to play for Valencia CF in La Liga in July, but he stayed in the club for few months and then he went back to Porto for extra three seasons.
In the 1987/88 season in Portugal, Mustapha Rabah Madjer scored 10 goals after playing 11 matches and was instrumental in the league conquest he retired from active football in the year 1992 at the age of 34 after a little spell with Qatar SC.
International Career
Mustapha Rabah Madjer played for the Algerian national team for complete 19 years and was among the national team of the country that played in the 1982 and the 1986 FIFA World cup. He retired as the top goal scorer of the country after scoring the total of 31 goals in 87 matches he played for the country.
His most famous international match was in the 2-1 win against Germany in the 1982 FIFA World Cup, when he opened the scoring in the 53rd minute of the game.
He started coaching in the year 1993. He was the coach of the national team but he resigned after he failed to qualify in the 1994 major competitions, the FIFA World Cup and the CAN and then he went back to Porto as a youth coordinator of the club.
Two years later he returned after a quick spell in the year 1999 and then resigned again with aggravation in the summer of the year 2002. He has also coached Qatari sides like Al-Wakrah Sports Club, Al-Rayyan Sports Club and Al Sadd.
