Messaoud ‘Saoudi’ Koussim was born on the 6th February 1941 in
Setif. He is a retired Algerian international footballer. He spent his entire
football career with the club in his hometown, ES Setif. He was a part of the
team that won the league cup double in the 1967/68 season. He was the president
of the club from the year 1972 to the year 1977, even though he was still
playing for the club. When he was with the club, he won the league title once and
he won the Algerian Cup trice, as he scored in the finals of the year 1967 and
1968.

He was a member of the Algerian national team. He played in two
unofficial matches for the country in the friendly games that were played
against Olympique de Marseille and FC La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Messaoud Koussim is the father of the Algerian film director and screen
writer, Yanis Koussim.
