Lazhar Hadj Aïssa was born on the 23rd March 1984 in Batna. He
is an Algerian professional football player. He is presently playing the role
of an attacking midfielder for the club MC Alger in the Algerian Ligue
Professionnelle 1.

Club Career
Lazhar Hadj Aïssa began his football playing career with the club in his
hometown, MSP Batna. He started with the youth academy of the club and
progressed to become one of the most prolific talents in the club. In the
2003/04 season, he played his first full match for the club in the Algerian
Second Division. His performance on the pitch attracted the attention of so
many other domestic clubs in the country.
In the summer of the year 2006, Lazhar Hadj Aïssa made a move to ES
Setif. He played the total of 25 matches for the club and scored two goals in
the first season he spent with the club. The next season, he played the total
of 28 matches and scored the total of five goals for the club. On the
recommendation of Zinedine Zidane, Lazhar Hadj Aïssa was given a trial by the
club, Real Madrid on the 10th June 2006.
In the third season he spent with the club, Lazhar Hadj Aïssa assisted
his club ES Setif to win the 2006/07 Algerian League, and that was the first
title for the club since the year 1987. He was a crucial member of the team
that played in the Arab Champions League title that was lifted by his club and
he was named the best player of the competition.
The next season, he
assisted the club to win the 2007/08 Arab Championship League. Meanwhile, his
club came third in the league competition. On the 11th July 2008, it
was publicized that the player would be joining Benfica in Portugal but the
announcement was denied as the player said that he will not be joining the club
because the club was planning on loaning him out to another club. Two weeks
later, he travelled to Ukraine and signed a deal with Metalist Kharkov though
the club could not match the price tag set by the president of ES Setif,
Abdelhakim Serrar.
On the 29th
August 2009, it was publicized that he was going on a test with Portsmouth in
the English Premier League. He trained with the club until the end of the
transfer window. He could not sign with the club because of working permit.
He was the captain of
his side in the final of the Algerian Cup that they won 3-0
On the 15th
August 2011, Lazhar Hadj Aïssa signed a
year deal with Kumaiti Premier league side, Qadsia SC.
