Edgar cani was born on the 22nd July 1989 in Tirana. He is a footballer from Albania and he plays the role of a centre forward for his team A.S. Bari in the Italian Serie B on loan from his main team, Catania. He is also a member of the Albanian national team.
Early Career
Cani was born in Albania, but he grew up in Città della Pieve, region of Perugia, Italy. He was first spotted by a Pescara scout in the year 2004 and then he signed by the biancazzurri.
Palermo and Loan on Serie B clubs
After spending first half of 2007/08 season with Pescara in the Serie C1, on the January 2008 he was confirmed to have signed for Palermo. From his team Pescara together with Luca Di Matteo for €600,000 and €500,000 respectively. In June 2008, Pescara made a discount for the two players that was sold for the prize of €450,000 each.
Cani played his first game for the serie A club on the 27th April 2008 in a home game that was played against Atalanta and the game finished 0-0.
On the July of that same year, Ascoli confirmed to have signed cani on a loan deal from his team Pelermo for the 2008/09 season of the serie B.
On the 20th of august 2009, he was loaned to another serie B team known as Padova. He left the club in January of the following year, 2010 and he went to Piacenza on a loan deal. He played his first match for the club by scoring twice in the game that ended 3-1 win against the home club, Triestina.
After the contract with Piacenza had expired at the end of the season, he was sent on another loan to Modena, another Serie B team on summer of the year 2010.

The next year he relocated to Polonia Warsaw outright. In Polonia, he got into crisis with the owner of the club and also with the coach of the team. An in January 2012, he started looking for another employer, but in the end of the whole thing, he made up his mind to go into three-year contract withPolonia. In the summer of the year 2012, for 3 months he did not go back to Poland after holiday that he had in Italy and he missed the training camp of the team. After going back, he could not play often, until he laid some abuses on the coach of the team and was moved to the youth academy of the team. Recently his move to Catania as announced was said to be controversial, because his contract with Polonia is going to end in the year 2015.
Catania and Loan to Carfpi and Bari
On the 22nd January 2013, cani made a deal with Catania Calcio in the serie A. he played his first game of the clubv on the 3rd March 2013 in a gamew played against Inter, and the team lost 3-2.
He was sent on a loan deal to Carpi FC in the Serie B on the 23rd July 2013. There he met another player from his country, Ledian Memushaj, who was also in the team on a loan deal from Lecce. He played his first game for the team on the 11th August 2013 against Reggina in a second leg match in the Coppa Italia and the game ended 1-0 loss. His first league match for the team was on the 24th August 2013 in a match that was played against Ternana and the game finished 1-0 in favor of the opponent. Cani score his first goal for his club on the 21st September 2013 in a game that was played against Cesena and the game ended 4-1 in favor of the opponent. He came into the match on the 787th minute of the game and scored the cancellation goal of the match on the 87th minute of the game.
In January 2014, he was sent on a loan to A.S. Bari and he is meant to stay in the club till the 30th June 2014. He played his first game for the club on the 1st February 2014 in match that was played against Brescia and he came into the game as a replacement for Stefano Sabelli and the game finished 2-1 in favor of the opponent.
International Career
In February 2011, Cani spoke to the media of his country, Albania that he has been dreaming to play for his country. The dream came true after a year, he was called up by the coach of the national team to participate a match that was to be played with Georgia on the 29th February 2012. His first game for the national team of his country also dropped a first goal for the country also. In the first match that he played for the country, he was brought in into the match as a replacement in that game played against Cyprus in the World Cup Qualifiers 2014. He scored the goal in the 84th minute of the game.
