An mtindo is a simple rhythm, dance or pattern identified with a particular ensemble. Sikinde, for example, is related with Mlimani Park, and it originated from the ngoma (musical occasions held by the Zaramo). Some ensembles maintain the same mtindo during their profession, while other evolve along with personnel or renowned preference.
