hop in South Korean increased into a cultural phenomenon in Seoul, Daegu and
Busan. The trend has been increasing since the mid-90s, especially after the
success of Seo Taiji and the Boy’s smash hit Nan arayo or I Know, which has
gained ground in the international, as Koreans have won different championships
all over the world since the early 200s. Apart from normal dance pop infused
hip hop, there is also an underground scene that has developed in all the part
of South Korea. The online webzines has help to spread the custom. On 15 July
2012, South Korean music musician Psy released the hit song Gangnam Style in
Korean. The video music of the song presently has over 1.5 billion views in
YouTube and also holds the world record for the most-viewed video on site.
