Blendi Nallbani was born on the 30th May 1971 in Tirana. He is also known as Tata. He is an Albanian goalkeeper. And he is presently playing for his club, KF Tirana in the superliga of Albania. He is the Vice Captain of the team under Devis Mukaj. He was a member of the national team of the country before he retired from playing international football in the year 2002.
Career
Nallbani moved back to KF Tirana for a 4th stint in the summer of the year 2004 after four seasons at the rival club Partizani Tirana. He joined goalkeeper that are already in the club like Isli Hidi and Nigerian Ndubuisi Egbo
International Career
At the age of 17, Nallbani was the youngest ever player to play in the national team of the country. He conceived 5 goals in a match that was played against England at Wembley stadium. Meanwhile, if not for his good performance in the game, his team would have suffered greater defeat in that match. After the game, he was praised by the English media, due to his performance in the game and as one of the greatest performances in the match and Peter Shilton was amazed by the performance of the goalkeeper in the game.
At the age of 17, Nallbani was also the youngest goalkeeper to play a match against England.
After the famous match that was layed against England and another match that was played against Spain, the goalkeeper gained the attention of famous clubs in Europe like Barcelona, Juventus, Anderlecht and some Romanian and Turkish football clubs. Meanwhile because of the communist regime in the country, he was not permitted to play for any team outside his country or his family will be prosecuted and perhaps jailed.
In the year 1990, he was chosen in the U-21 Best European Selection and was to play in the charity game that was to played against Africa/Asia. Meanwhile he could not take part in the game because of the same reason that banned him from playing any other team outside the country.
After the fall of the communist regime, he was able to play 2 years in Romania, but he returned back to the country for good after two years.
Initially he played for Partizani Tirana and thenhe made a move to his current club KF Tirana for a transfer fee of $1,000,000; it is in this club that he has won multiple championships, Cip and Supercups. That was the most expensive transfer in the history of Albanian football and it made the front page for major newspapers and magazines in the country.
Personal Life
Nallbani is married and has two children, both of them are boys. One of his sons has followed his footstep as a football player. His son Marvin Blendi Nallbani is also a player in the same club with his father, KF Tirana. Unlike his father, he is playing the role of a midfielder in the pitch and has been training with the senior team of the club since the age of 16 and is presently playin g for the Under-19 team of the club. When asked when he will retire from football, Nallbani replied that it is when his son start playing for the senior team of the club, then he can retire from playing football.
