Mariachi
The
ensemble of mariachi is made up of guitarron, guitar, violins, vihuela and
trumpets. This band performs son de mariachi, ranchera, polka, huapango de
mariachi, corridor and other musical types. It was coined from the southern
part of the state of Jalisco during the 19th century. The city of
Guadalajara in Jalisoc, which is the capital of Mariachi, the style is
presently well-known all over Mexico and the Southwestern United States and it
represent the Mexican music and culture. This music style is played by a group
that is made up of five or more artists who wear charro suits. 1950s was the
unique age of mariachi, when the ranchera pattern was common in movies. Mariachi Vargas played many soundtracks and
the long-lived band’s long career and popular commendation has made it to be
one of the famous mariachi. These movies became extremely renowned in all the
Latin America and mariachi became extremely famous in areas such as Peru and
Colombia until this period.
There
are diverse histories as to the origin of the word mariachi, some say it came
from the French word marriage which is a type of music that is often played
during weddings. Though, mariachi has its origin from a part of Mexico, where
the French never visited and even they do, it has begun before their arrival in
1864. Another argument is that the word came from an indigenous name Pilla or
Cirimo tree, whose wood is used to make guitars. It has also been argued that
the name came from festivals which honor a virgin known as Maria H whose
artists played for and later was given this name.
The
traditional mariachi ensemble is made up of vihuela, guitar, violin, a
guitarron (large bass guitar) and a trumpet and other instruments that are also
seen in mariachi ensemble include flute, accordion, French horn, organ which
are used and they are used for a specific arrangements.
Mexican
music was well-known in the United States in the late 70s as part of the
renewal of mariachi music which was led by artists like Linda Ronstadt. Other
popular mariachi artists include Vincente Fernandez, Pedro Infante, Pepe
Aguilar, Pedro Fernandez, Alejandro Fernandez, Miguel Aceves Mejia and Antonio
AguilarJarabe Tapatio and La Cucaracha were some of the best-known examples of
Mexican music in United states and they are referred to as the Mexican Hat
dance in the United State.

Specialized
band in norteno music comprises of diatonic accordion, sexton, bajo, double
bass and drums. Another significant music pattern is the musica nortena that is
from northern Mexico, which has been the foundation for such subgenres as
musica de banda. Musica Nortena similar with musica Tejana emerged from 1830s
to 40s in the Rio Grande area in the southern Texas. It is influenced by both
Bohemian music and settler miners, its rhythms were originated from the
European polkas, which were famous during the 1800s. This type of the Mexican
music originated its singers like Los Tigres del Norte, Ramon Ayala and many
others.
Banda
The
music of banda was made through the imitation of military ensembles that were
imported during the second Mexican Empire which was led by emperor Maximillian
I of Mexico in the 1860s. The sound of banda is very similar with the polka
music. Polish settlers made themselves in the state of Sinaloa. It was
additional fame during the town squares. Pancho Villa who is the rebellious
leader also took the wind bands with them for the entire place they went. Banda as of now remained renowned all over
the central and northern states. It has now expanded into diverse patterns due
to areas, instruments and transformation. Presently people associate banda with
Sinaloense. This was coined in 1940s, when the media share Banda el Recodo

Unlike the tamborazo Zacatecano and Sinaloense’s important instrument is the
tuba. Also an accordion is included. Banda Machos, Chalino Sanchez, El Chapo de
Sinaloa, Banda El Recodo, Banda Cuisillos, La Arrolladora El Limon de Rene
Camacho, Joan Sebastian and Banda Los Recoditos were some of the popular
artists.
Grupera
Grupera
or onda grupera is a type of genre in Mexican folk music. These styles is
influenced by cumbia, norteno and ranchera and also reached its height of popularity
in the 1980s particularly in the rural areas. This music actually coins from
the rock groups in the 1960s but presently it is generally made up of five of
fewer artists who are using electric guitars, keyboards and drums. Musicians in
this genre include Los Humildes, Yonics, La Migra, Limite, Los Caminantes, Ana
Barbara, Los Temerarios, Marco Antonio Solis, Joan Sebastian, and Bronco. This
type of music increased its popularity in the 90s and became commercially feasible
and it is now accepted in some of the Latin Music Awards events such as the
Latin Grammy Awards and Lo Nuestro.
The
new waves of the Mexican rock ensembles started during the Spanish cover
popular English rock songs. After the first stage they trend to involve their
own collection of traditional ranchera songs that is addition to cumbia and
ballad. The 1970s saw to the emergence of the number of the grupera ensembles
that is particular in slow ballads and songs that make mariachi to that point
of extent.

Marcha de Zacatecas which is the March of Zacatecas by Genaro Codina which is a

patriotic song and it is the anthem of the State of Zacatecas which is
considered as the 2nd national anthem of Mexico.
