Tamang community is popular for Damphu and its traditional instrument. Tamang Selo music is mainly used in Damphu and Tungna. It is believed that the British people got an idea of making the drum sets from Damphu in the time of their stay at India. The Indian and western instruments are also established in some of the new Tamang Selo music. Presently due to the re-blending movement of classical Nepali songs, Tamang Selo tuned songs like changba hoi changba and Man chadey Maichyang lai which have its hit in Nepali radio stations.
