two significant genres of pop music played in Kenya bands include the Congolese
sound and Swahili sound. Which both are based on soukous (rumba) which is from
Democratic Republic of the Congo, Swahili music can be described as a much
slower rhythm; however the patterns have had an inclination to appear in the
present years. The genres are not characterized by the language; however
Swahili pop is usually in Swahili or the linked Taito language, which both are
sometime in Lingala or one of the native languages of Kenya.
