hip hop music and culture has influenced the Namibian youth with influence from
the American slain rappers known as Tupac Shaku and Notorious B.I.G and others
such as Nas, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Jay-Z and Dr. Dre. The urban Namibian youth
have taken on the life of the hip hop which includes their dressing code.
Dungeon family was the early Namibian hip hop acts group which was formed by the
newly re-formed group known as Kalaharians and the renowned girl duo Gal level.
Fidel O’del, Kanibal, Dore, Catty Catt, Zero Degrees and others were the laid
musician’s such as Mark also known as WestCoast Finest, LYRIC also known as the
NomadePoet, Swakop City MC’s the Naughty Crew and Krazie-D of Otjiwarongo who
were also among the first hip hop musicians.
