Kwesi Johnson’s dub poetry); Sly Robbie’s rockers reggae, which drew on August
Pablo’s melodica, becoming famous with musicians like The Gladiator and The
mighty Diamond; Joe Gibbs mellower rocker reggae, include music by culture and
Dennis Brown; Burning Spear’s different pattern, as shown by the songs Marcus
Garvey and Man in the Hills; and harmonic, spiritual-oriented Rasta music like
that of the Abyssinians, Black Uhuru and the Third World. In the year 1975,
Lousia mark had a hit with Caught You in a Lie, which begins a movement to
British artists making romantic, ballad-oriented reggae which is known as the
lover’s rock.
