the year 2008 the electronic/world music group Mikros Kosmos (small word) came
into Cyprus and recorded their first music in Nicosia. Their first appearance
presented live remixes for laptop and voice of the classical Greek rebetika,
with the performance in New York City’s Golden Festival and elsewhere in the
United States. Mikros Kosmos’s full-length of the original music that moves
away from the classical rebetika with a feeling for minimal composition and a
lyrical abstraction which is rare in the history of the Greek music.
