The coupe-Decale was initiated by the late Stephane Doukoure (which is also known as Douk-Saga) during the post 2002 militaro political problem in Ivory Coast. This reflects the interests of a large section of Ivorian youth. Coupe-Decale is a very drum pattern that feature African samples, deep bass, and repetitive, minimalist arrangements. Also, Coupe-Decale is about happiness, expressing daily life in Ivorian society and also gives them an insight into the political situation of the country. The notable artists of the Coupe-Decale are Douk- Saga (Doukoure) with the Jet Set, DJ Brico, DJ Arsenal, Papa Ministre with his popular tune Coupe-Decale Chinois and many other gifted Ivorian artists. The most notable composer in actuality is known as DJ Lewis with its Grippe Aviaire Dance that came from Coup-Decale while other names such as David Tayorault, Afrika Reprezenta, and DJ Lewis are very recent.
