The veuze is a Breton bagpipe musical
instrument that is found in the southeastern Brittany and in the northern part
of the Vandee, especially around Nantes, the Guerande peninsula, and
Basse-Vilaine. The veuze has been talked about in writings that dates back to
the 16th century, and is thought to be the oldest of all bagpipe
instruments in Breton. The veuze is thought to be the antecedents of the
biniou.

blowpipe, a double-reeded chanter, and a single-reeded drone. The double-reeded
chanter is commonly pitched in C or D, but can also be found in A, B♭ and G.
