The nagara is said to have many names, Armenian: Դհոլ, Georgian: დოლი, Azerbaijani: nağara. It is a folk drum that has double head which can be played on
one side with the bare hands. This musical instrument is mostly used in Azerbaijan,
Georgia, Turkey, Armenia and other Caucasus regions, and also each of these
regions has a name with which this instrument is known for.

In Turkey, the nagara is a folk drum or percussion instrument that is
placed under the arm and beaten with the hands. It is compared with a regular
drum and the diameter is quite smaller than the diameter of any other ordinary
drum.
In Azerbaijan, the naghara is mostly used in the wedding ceremonies.
The instrument helped the doctors to get off bad mood, melancholy, intellectual
and physical stress and also blood pressure. It was assumed that the instrument
could be used in replacement for some medicinal plants like spicy cloves.
According to the rich scientific and musical heritage of this musical
instrument, it is like the instrument is not only listened to for enjoyment and
entertainment, but they saw the music as a relating force in the prevention and
treatment of so many diseases.
