It is derived from the huayno. It was adapted from the Eastern Bolivian instruments and does not include the flute or pan flutes, but it includes drums and other similar wind instruments. It is now played by a large bands and sometimes with synthesizers but traditionally, it is played by the tamboritas by the typical Eastern Bolivian musical orchestras. The two main instruments that are used are the tamborcillos (small drums) and the violin.
