This
rhythm came from the valley and the highlands where herded sheep, IIamas and
alpacas shepherded and spent long hour in entertaining themselves with their
quenas. After, the dance was made based on the common movements the shepherds
and shepherdesses made to herd, watch over the water and fed the animals. It is
one of the recent Bolivian dances.
