Early Beginnings and Career
1982 to 2004
Sebastian Schneider was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He took up the
maiden name of the mother from a German descent mother and a Basque descendant
father. He lived his early life on Palermo neighborhood, and that was the place
he started his music profession. At the age of 6, his grandmother called
Florencia gave him his first guitar, an acoustic nylon guitar. He started his
musical studies on Carlos Guastanvino Conservatory where he started studied
classical music called tango and the folklore music of the country. At the age
of 11, not minding the persistence of his parents, he made his mind up to drop
all his music ambitions. At that time, he already had been part of many
concerts as a player of the musical instrument, guitar on the Conservatory
activities and private events as well.
In the year 1997, he picked up the study of the musical instrument again
with Squier Standard Telecaster that was given to him by the parents as a gift
at the private academy that was sponsored by Yamaha Corp., and it was there
that he learned prominent patterns like the rock, the blues and the jazz. He
started forming many bands, leading them and composing music for the bands as a
musician and as a rhythm guitar player.
Sebastian Schneider is never comfortable of using the pick that is used
by many people to play the electric guitar and preferred to use the secondary
role from a guitarist point of view and play the rhythm on music.
In the year 2004, performing as a solo artist on a private activity made
him to reunite with HoracioAscheri, the leader of the Argentine band calledThe
Pick Ups.
2004 to 2006
Leaving his fresh musical project behind, a hard rock band with English
music only and with Ascheri as the producer, Sebastian Schneider started the
recording of his first solo album called Cancion Para Nadie. In the year 2005,
he dropped the album. And the single tracks of the music album, Haciendo Fuego
started to air on a good number of radio stations in the country, though the
music lasted for more than 5 minutes. Sebastian Schneider then started playing
on many concerts on Buenos Aires and the suburbs and the first radio interview
he got. After many personal conflicts, he quit playing publicly and dedicated
the year 2006 to the writing of his new album.
2006 to 2009
Being away from the stage, and with Ascheri getting off his career for
health issues, he committed himself to the writing of songs that would finally
be part of his second album, and that took him close to a year to compose. In
the early part of the year 2007, he gave birth to Una Vida Mas, an album that
has dark but optimistic lyrics, and with a pop-oriented sound rather than rock
music. A single track in the album called Dame got more recognition than the
previous one, Haciendo Fuego and was aired by many major radio stations of the
country. The music video of the music was aired in all the TV stations of the
country and in some neighboring countries like Mexico,
Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama, Venezuela, Costa Rica and Honduras. The record
got his the opportunity to go on a promotional travel and it took him to many
Latin American countries towards the end of the year 2008, and that was where
he started getting many TV, radio and press interviews.
2009 to 2010
Between August and
October of the year 2009, Sebastian
Schneider wrote more than 50 tracks and from there he preselected 20 and
recorded then in his studio. Sebastian Schneider made up his mind to create a
concept album called ‘broken in half’ and released the first part of it, an EP
called "Me voy a escapar...(Parte I)", in December of the year
2009. On the 11th December 2009, the album was officially premiered
live on a popular Buenos Aires Theatre, while Sebastian Schneider planned the future shows and travels for the new
record and the dropping of the second part of the album being in the year 2010.
2010 to Present
By the early part of
the year 2010, Sebastian Schneider got
into the studio and completed the second half of the album and by June of the
year 2010, the part of the album was dropped. The album is made up of 8 tracks
that makes is 14 in total. This was the album that contains two songs that were
made in the English language, for the first time by the artist. The album
release concert was held on the 28th August 2010 on a major Buenos
Aires Venue; Luna Park. After the concert for the album in the early part of
the year 2011, Sebastian Schneider took a break to go back to the stage.
