Ignacio Varchausky was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a double
bass player, a music producer and the founder of the Orquesta El Arranque. He
is the creator as well as the artistic director of the OrquestaEscuela de Tango
Emilio Balcarce.

Ignacio Varchausky is the founder ofTangoVia Buenos
Aires, a non-profit organization that has the aim of preserving, spreading and
building up the tango culture of the country all through the world.
Orquesta El Arranque
This is the group with which Ignacio Varchausky recorded the total of 6
albums and has played the role of double bass player in more than 150 cities
all through the United States, Europe, Japan and China. His most significant
performance is that cycle at the Lincoln Center in New York with Wynton
Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, the concert that was held at
the Carre Theatre in Amsterdam, the concert at the Orchard Hall in Tokyo, that
which was held at the Bergen, Norway and at the Kennedy Center in Washington
D.C. as well as series of concert that was held in the year 2007 Hong Kong Arts
Festival.
OrquestaEscuela de Tango Emilio Balcarce
The documentary known as "Si sosbrujo: A Tango
Story" that saw Ignacio Varchausky
to be the lead man alongside maestro Emilio Balcarce, documented the birth of
this orchestra-school for young musicians that resides in Buenos Aires. With
his retirement, the leadership of the group was left for maestro Nestor Marconi

Ignacio Varchausky has produced more than 20 albums with artist like Leopoldo
Federico, Gustavo Beytelmann, Julio Pane, Néstor Marconi, Bibi Ferreira, Lidia
Borda and Vale Tango.

and artistically producing the Gran OrquestaTangoVia Buenos Aires that formed
by the most crucial tango musicians of the new generation in the year 2003.
Ø "Tango
en Vivo" concert cycle, in together with radio "2x4" 92.7 FM in
Buenos Aires. Over 100 tango concerts were played, and each of them was
recorded in digital multi-track and publicized to a weekly audience of more
than 300,000 listeners. The cycle was afterwards published as a boxed set of
five CDs that was produced by EPSA Music.
