At his time, the city of Constantine was known for their religion,
culture, art and also the Arabo-Islamic practices and customs.
Hadj Smaine grew up together with one of his family and friends loving
art and the culture as a whole, music, movies, scouting and swimming in the
Sidi M’sid Swimming pool.
Over time, Hadj Smaine joined the theatre group called ‘The Thousand and
One Nights’ with some of his friends, late Hassan Belhadj
and Abdelkrim Menai. After many years of practice, Hadj Smain decided to
disjoint himself from the group to start a theatre without any sketch,
analogous to the practices in the Arabic and in the European world.
