The two of the biggest international music festivals have further boosted Martinique’s music scene. Jazz a la Martinique and Carrefour Mondial de Guitare alternate years, the county’s popular jazz artists are featured during this jazz a la Martinique, but major worldwide players such as Branford Marsalis also play. Honoring the guitar, Carrefour Mondial de Guitare honors a wide variety of guitar genres which include the flamenco, jazz, rock, blues, and pop. Both festivals last about one week with shows in different places all over Martinique.
