the early 1980s, in the periods of martial law, Polish heavy metal began its
existence. Turbo and TSA became the first Polish heavy metal ensembles. Turbo
was often dubbed as the Polish Iron Maiden, while TSA played in the same
pattern of AC/DC. Many of the Polish heavy metal ensembles played at Jarocin
Music Festival. The year 1985 was an important year for polish heavy metal Iron
Maiden played in a show at Szczecin, Poland. The show was the cause of an
increase of modern polish ensembles. KAT became the first thrash metal band.
KAT was very satanic, with lyrics moving topic like LaVey’s philosophy and
anticlerical lyrics. This ensemble was a sign of metal revolt in Poland and it
was the first Polish band that openly attacked the Catholic Church. KAT
released their debut in the year 1985 with the single known as Ostatni
Tabor/Noce Szatana, heavy/speed metal 666 from 1986 and also threash metal
Oddech Wymarlych Swiatow from 1988. Poland extremely had a strong thrash metal
scene in the late 80s. Some of the renowned Polish thrash metal ensembles
