Mário Rodrigues Filho better known with the name Mário Filho was born on the 3rd June 1908 in Recife; he died on the 17th September 1966 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. He was a Brazilian writer and a journalist.

Mário Filho was born in the capital of Pernambuco state, Mário Filho and he moved to the city of Rio de Janeiro in the year 1916 as a kid. His father called Mário Rodrigues owned a newspaper called A Manhã. He started at the newspaper of the father in the year 1926 as a sport reporter.
Life
Mário Filho was the son of the Mário Rodriguez, a journalist of the local daily paper called Diário de Pernambuco. He was born in the Northeastern part of the country, Pernambuco Recife in the year 1908. On his election to be a member of the federal Parliament in the year 1912¸his family relocated to the former capital of the country, Rio de Janeiro.
Mário Filho started his career as a reporter for the daily paper of the country called A Manhã in the city of Rio de Janeiro, which was then own by the father. He specialized in sports and was good at the field by the year 1926. After the death of the father,  Mário Filho led the newspaper for a short time, to a speedy end. In the year 1931, Mário Filho founded O Mundo Sportivo, the first magazine that is dedicated to sport in the country, though the existence of the paper was short. Mário Filho joined the newspaper of the country called O Globo in the year 1931 and it was there that he worked with media mogul Robero Marinho.
Mário Filho was the founder of the annual competition of samba for schools of the city of Rio de Janeiro in the year 1932, the sports is now one of the main tourist attraction f the city of Rio.
Mário Filho took over from Roberto Marinho at the Jornal dos Sports in the year 1936 after JSports called upon.
Mário Filho also was an author of many books in the country. In the year 1947, Mário Filho’s book called O negro no futebol brasileiro was published and the book is still seen as a classic of the sports literature in the country. In the book, he described the rise of the first black stars of the country like Arthur Friedenreich, Leônidas da Silva and Domingos da Guia.
Mário Filho died in the year 1966 at the age of 58 from heart attack. He left his wife Célia behind. His wife committed suicide some months after his death.
