Biography
Hermes Carleial was born in the city of Barbalha in the state of Ceara in
the year 1904. He started his studies in the same city and completed his
studies in the city of Fortaleza, in the state of Ceara at the Colégio São Luis and started working in the local
trade of the city. He got his diploma in accountancy in the year 1926 at the
Escola de Comércio Fênix Caixeral and in the year 1933, Hermes Carleial got married to Maria
do Carmo Mendes Frota.
Hermes Carleial graduated in Law at the Faculdade de Direito do Ceará, though he never practiced the profession
and kept on with business.
Hermes Carleial wrote for the newspapers and magazines in the country
from the city of Fortaleza and the city of Rio de Janeiro as O Povo, O Estado, Jornal das Moças e Revista
Fon-Fon. He was the winner of the José Albano in the poetry genre with
his work called Rapsódia Cearense and
was promoted by the Education Department of Fortaleza.
Hermes Carleial died in the city of Fortaleza in the year 1954 of
hypertensive crisis and cerebrovascular accident.
