Daniel Munduruku was born on the 28th February 1964 in Belém
do Pará. He is a Brazilian writer and an educator. Daniel Munduruku is a member of the Munduruku indigenous people.
The books he wrote for the children of the country deals with the traditional
indigenous life and tales and they were awarded with many prizes.

Daniel Munduruku graduated in Philosophy, History and Psychology; he has
his master’s degree in Social Anthropology and a doctorate in Education from
the University of Sao Paulo.
Apart from being a writer, Daniel Munduruku has worked as a teacher and
is part of many organizations that has the intentions of building the culture
and literature of the people of Brazil. He is the president of the Instituto
Indígena Brasileiro da Propriedade Intelectual. He is the director of the
Instituto Uk'a - A Casa dos Saberes Ancestrais and also the president of the
Academy of Letters of Lorena. Daniel
Munduruku is also the managing director of the Museu do Índio of the
city of Rio de Janeiro.
